The third training session started with the sharing of Lieutenant Colonel Bui Trong Duc, Communications Department (BB28) – Ho Chi Minh City’s Public Security about information, background of domestic violence, alarming data about this violence in the locality and the difficulties and challenges of the authorities in handling violations.
After that, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh (Deputy Department of Child Protection and Care – Gender Equality, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) continued the training session with discussions on about the intervention process, handling cases of children who are affected by violence and sexual abuse on the basis of the law, principles of client confidentiality and respect for counselors’ responsibility.
In the afternoon of the same day, everyone restarted with a fun activity to develop skills to understand clients and learn how to extract information from children using one of the most popular methods like drawing or asking open-ended questions to help children easily share the problems that they are facing.
