4TH TRAINING SESSION (09/04/2021): POST-TRAINING EXPERIENCE AND THINGS TO PROMOTE

  • by

The final training session started with the trainers’ sharing about the importance of empathizing with the problems their victims are facing, and how to listen actively to help build children’s confidence. Counselors have learned about re-expressing skills, summarizing skills, skills to handle silence in children, techniques for touching surveys (using pictures, expressing faces).

The counselors then practiced a complete consultation case, reapplying the knowledge they gained during the 4-day training to deal with the hypothetical situation in the most effective way.

At the end of the training session, the President of The Child Abuse Prevention and Protection Project in Ho Chi Minh City, Madam Luong Thi Thuan shared general information about the project, its goals and strategic activities to access to services at local agencies. Mr. Pham Dinh Nghinh – Project manager – also highlighted opportunities for networking to improve the capacity of counselors and social officers working on children’s issues in District 8 and Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City and develop professional teams of volunteers at the project and volunteers at community consultation sites – local service providers. For children included in the program, they will be updated periodically for the records to serve the management and monitoring, to ensure that all children staff can thoroughly handle arising cases.

Finally, all participants of the training session were grouped according to their local working area and contributed their views and opinions on the strategy for implementing the project activities in the coming time.

The training series ended meaningfully with loads of useful knowledge for child support and protection!
