On the afternoon of Saturday June 6th the HCWA organized an internal training session based on Communications and Fundraising, for the officers and volunteers of the “Protection and Prevention of Child abuse in Ho Chi Minh City” project. The training session welcomed a full turnout of 14 participants, all of whom are HCWA staff and volunteers, MOLISA Officers or Child Protection & Development Officers for the 4 wards/localities of District 8 and Binh Chanh District that this project has been implemented in.
The session started off with some realistic project updates from Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuc – Member of HCWA Executive Committee. On a broader scale, Mr. Pham Dinh Nghinh – Project Coordinator of the “Protection and Prevention of Child abuse in Ho Chi Minh City” project – shared the current situation of child protection work throughout the HCMC area, and expressed his hope that the project would significantly lower the amount of child abuse occurrences. After staff heard about the reality of the situation and the work already being carried out, participants had the chance to take part in a training workshop that was conducted by Ms. Vo Ngoc Tuyen – Head of Corporate Partnership and Fundraising at LIN Center.
Thanks to Ms. Tuyen’s charm and creativity, all participants had the chance to practice fund analysis, teamwork and presentation skills. Through these fun activities and open conversations, the participants have hopefully gained not only useful knowledge on Communications and Fundraising but also the essential skills needed for successful brand management and sustainable funding development. These skill sets will help them to achieve the goals set out by this project and continue helping the community.
