The Ho Chi Minh City Child Welfare Association Held Its First Congress for the 2025–2030 Term

On 9 December 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Child Welfare Association held its First Congress for the 2025–2030 term at the Hall of the Guest House for People with Meritorious Service.

The Congress was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Tang Minh, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, along with representatives from various departments, agencies, mass organizations, and social organizations; more than 40 official delegates representing the Association’s members; and members of the press.

With nearly 40 years of operation, the Ho Chi Minh City Child Welfare Association has accompanied and supported hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children and adolescents. Over time, the Association has affirmed its role as a voluntary social organization, serving as a bridge of compassion that brings opportunities, joy, and protection to children with special needs.
The Congress also reviewed one year of implementing the Resolution of the 8th Congress (2024–2029 term). Since September 2024, the Association has mobilized nearly VND 4.5 billion to implement various models and projects, including: care and upbringing for girls at Little Rose Warm Shelter; support services for children at Green Bamboo Social Center; the Cau Han Project – charity classes; the “Pilot Project on Promoting the Rights of Children with Disabilities” for the 2025–2026 period; as well as communication activities to raise awareness on child protection. These programs have provided timely support to girls at high risk of violence and abuse, helping to stabilize their mental well-being and ensure proper nutrition, healthcare, education, and healthy recreational activities.

Entering the 2025–2030 term, the Association sets out to enhance the quality of child care and education, expand its areas of operation, strengthen financial autonomy, and develop support models for children with disabilities, LGBT children, and mental health care programs for children.
The Congress elected a new Executive Board comprising 23 members. Ms. Luong Thi Thuan was elected as President of the Association, along with four Vice Presidents and an Inspection Committee.
The Congress was held in a solemn, warm, and effective atmosphere, marking a promising beginning for the new term.
