On July 29-31 2019, HCWA organized a variety of activities with a view to celebrating 20-year cooperation between HCWA & Dynamo International ASBL and 10-year sponsorship of Wallonie Bruxelles International.
On the opening day, 50 distinguished guests who are the representatives of local authorities, funding agencies, INGOs & LNGOs and centers for social welfares in HCMC and 03 provinces. Apart from the speeches of the social organizations of the networking, Ms. Tran Thi Hong Diem, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Deputy Manager of Division of the Child Protection & Gender Equality (from Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs) also delivered their speeches, which emphasized part of HCWA’s work in protecting and caring for its underprivileged children during the period of project partnership with Dynamo International.
After the opening day, there were two seminar organized:
Thematic Seminar on the Work of Protection and Care of Children in HCMC: Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, the facilitator of the seminar, shared the current laws, programs and policies for children, etc. This was a good opportunity for the participants and the facilitator got updates helpful for their areas of work.
Workshop on “Sharing Street Work Experiences in Vietnam and How to Maintain & Develop the Current Network of Educators”: Mr. Edwin de Boéve, Director of Dynamo International, Mr. Tran Quoc Duy, M.A of Psychology & technical advisor of Dynamo International and the Network Coordinating Board shared their viewpoint and ideas for the upcoming activities of the period of 2020-2021.
Also in this opportunity, HCWA organized two field trips to visit two models: 1) Green Bamboo Warm Shelter (to learn more about its child rehabilitation and fundraising activities), 2) Center for Orphans, Disabled Children and Abandoned Children at Ky Quang Pagoda II.
